6U Game Rules:
Games will be played at Cameron Park Rec center using side courts with the rims at 8 foot.
· There are no expectations of perfection from 4, 5 & 6-year old’s. This is a developmental age group, so some traveling and double dribbling will be overlooked, and some will be called (Refs discretion).
· In the interest of moving games along, minimal fouls will be called, but the referee will always control the game.
· One Referee will be provided for each game.
· Four eight-minute quarters, non-stop clock.
· Home team will inbound ball first (no jump ball), visitors will inbound at the start of the second half.
· All teams will play man-to-man defense only with no double-teaming and no pressing.
· All Players are required to play four minutes each quarter.
· First five players on each team will match up at half court with coach’s assistance.
o The clock will stop at the 4-minute mark in each quarter to rotate players, the players will match up at half court every time.
o No substitutes between each break, unless a player is injured.
· One Coach from each team may be on the court during the games to instruct his team only.
· Ball size 27.5 inch
8U Game Rules:

· Two Referees will be provided for each game.
· General CIF High School rules will apply with the exceptions listed below:
· Four eight-minute quarters, non-stop clock.
· The clock will ONLYstop in the last two minutes of the game, if the game is within 12 points or less.
· Each team will receive three time outs for the entire game.
DEFENSIVE RULES FOR 8u
· All teams will play ZONE defense only with no double-teaming and no full court pressing.
o All zones are acceptable except box and one.
o Defenders may switch zone positions at any time, but cannot double team an offensive player.
o Teams cannot press (including half court), offensive players must be picked up when in the defensive players zone.
o Defenses may push up to half court in the last two minutes of the fourth quarter only to avoid stalling, but must be in a zone defense.
o Coaches may set up defense at the beginning of each quarter and when the clock stops at the end of the first four minutes.
o The clock will stop at the 4-minute mark in each quarter (with the exception of the 4thquarter) to rotate players.
o No substitutes between each break during the first three quarters unless a player is injured.
o No player can play the entire game. Every player MUST be subbed out a minimum of 4 consecutive minutes per game.
o The clock will not stop in the fourth quarter to rotate players.
· Coaches are required to play each player on their team 4 minutes each quarter, except the fourth quarter.
o Coaches are only required to play each player two minutes in the fourth quarter.
o Coaches will sub freely ensuring each player has a minimum of two minutes for the final quarter.
· Required playing time violations will result in the following:
o Coach will be issued a Technical: two technical shots for every player missing 4 minutes of playing time a quarter, for the first three quarters.
o A one game suspension of the head coach for not playing a player for an entire quarter.
o Forfeit of the game: for not playing a player for a whole half or more.
o If a coach benches a player due to not attending practice or parent request (sick, bad grades, etc.) the coach must inform the score table the refs and the players parents prior to the start of the game, otherwise the above playing time violations will apply.
· Tiebreakers – No Game will end in a tie:
o Two minutes non-stop clock, one thirty second time out each team.
o Second tiebreaker will consist of one-minute non-stop clock with one thirty second time out for each team.
o Third tiebreaker will be sudden death, first one to score wins, no time outs.
10U, 12U, 14U Game Rules:
Two Referees will be provided for each game.
General CIF High School rules will apply with the exceptions below:
· Four ten-minute quarters, non-stop clock.
· The clock will ONLYstop in the last two minutes of the game, if the game is within 12 points or less.
• Each team will receive three time outs for the entire game.
· Full courts press must stop once a team is up by 15 or more points.
o Violations of this rule will be enforced by the referees.
§ First is a warning and every violation following will result in two technical shots.
· Coaches can sub freely throughout the game as long as minimum playing time is achieved for each quarter for each player.
· Each player must play a minimum of four minutes for the first three quarters of the game.
· Coaches are only required to play each player two minutes in the fourth quarter.
· Required playing time violations will result in the following:
o Coach will be issued a Technical: two technical shots for every player missing 4 minutes of playing time a quarter, for the first three quarters.

** Overtime - ALL Divisions **
There is no minute requirements for players in Overtime. Should a game go into Overtime, the coach will decide playing time their team.
** Coaches Responsibility **
All coaches are responsible to make sure their players clean up after each game. Additionally, only 3 coaches are allowed to sit on the bench (Head Coach, Assistant Coach, Team Parent) with no more than 1 coach permitted to stand during the game.
